A POSITIVE WAY TO END THE DAY

Last year, a Foundation grant was used to create an after school program, Teachers Encouraging Kids (T.E.K.), for 6th and 7th grade students at Central Middle School. Sixth grade social studies teacher, Anne Lorenz, experienced such a positive response to the club that she is requesting to expand the program to include 8th graders too. By working in smaller groups, and getting to know teachers and administrators on a personal level, students are given additional opportunities for success in ways that go beyond the classroom.
