Receiving the 301 Central Education Foundation grant afforded us the opportunity to make a student’s request for a book discussion group into a reality.  We, along with the students in the current unofficial “book club”, are very grateful to the Foundation for recognizing the need for a forum in which students can share their love of reading.”

THE GRANT PROGRAM

The 301 Central Education Foundation awards grants on an annual basis to encourage the development of creative and innovative teaching and learning initiatives for the 301 Central Community schools consistent with the District's goals. Through the grant program, the Foundation supports the preparation of new instructional materials, methods, and inventive teaching programs that are introduced into a classroom. In addition, the Foundation funds extracurricular initiatives that are intended to enhance student learning.

In 2009, the Foundation was able to create, distribute, evaluate, and award thirteen grants for a total of $16,500. These grants were awarded for projects submitted by District educators who were unable to secure other resources to finance their unique program proposals.
