2017 Scholarship Awards

Congratulations to the Class of 2017 Central Education Foundation Scholarship Recipients

The Central Education Foundation is pleased to be able to recognize these two deserving students, as well as provide them with their respective scholarship awards. We wish them the best of luck in their endeavors!

The Charles J. Marshall Memorial Scholarship – $500

This year’s recipient is Megan M.

Megan was very involved inside and outside of school. She worked very hard on all her classes and was involved in FFA all 4 years. Outside of school, Megan has been a member of the A Bit More 4-H Club for 8 years earning many blue ribbons and showing several Grand Champion chickens at the Kane County Fair. She has also been the secretary for the Kane Country 4-H Ambassadors for the last 3 years. Megan has also been a member of the St. Charles Sportsmen’s Shotcrew for 5 years. She loves shooting trap. She is also involved in many volunteer activities at church and with her 4-H club. Currently she is working for Lenkaitis Holsteins. In addition to working at the dairy farm, she is helping to run a successful hay business.

Megan is planning to attend Elgin Community College for a couple of years and then onto the University of Wisconsin at Platteville to get her pre-vet degree and finally to University of Wisconsin at Madison for vet school.

The Family & Consumer Science Scholarship – $500

This year’s recipient is Ryan C.

Throughout high school, Ryan C. participated in volunteerism and exhibited leadership through activities such as Kane County Peer Jury, National Honor Society, American Legion Premier Illinois Boys State, Bob Pritchard’s Youth Advisory Council, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering, athletics, and by leading Central High in the Pledge of Allegiance every morning.

Ryan was also the Senior Class President and Valedictorian for the Class of 2017.

He developed an interest in tissue and viral engineering while taking AP Biology and looks forward to pursuing Biomedical Engineering/Pre-Med at the University of Wisconsin—Madison this upcoming fall.
